Senior Leadership Technical Program Manager, Network Demand Management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • 7 years of experience in leadership role(s) with direct reports.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience defining system or process requirements, building, integrating, or delivering layer 1, layer 2 or layer 3 network systems.
  • Experience managing priorities and budgets across technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in extracting information from code (e.g., Python, SQL) to validate work output and create data-driven insights for stakeholders.
  • Experience designing and evaluating mathematical models to solve undefined network demand problems, refining assumptions for model development.
  • Understanding of the technical and process challenges associated with network forecasting and planning.
  • Ability to apply a research skillset to keep up with scientific developments and future trends in forecasting and statistical analysis.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of scaling Google's global network by leading the team responsible for managing and optimizing Google's network demand and forecasting. You will drive the strategy, forecasting, and operational excellence required to scale Google's network infrastructure in a highly complex environment. You will leverage your expertise in networking, advanced data analytics, and process optimization to deliver predictable, high-quality forecasts and demands that directly enable Google's business goals. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define long-term network demand strategy and OKRs, driving scalable initiatives and product area wide best practices while reconciling conflicting priorities across stakeholders from engineers to VP.
  • Manage end-to-end forecast processes and workflows for new network products, utilizing AI strategically to drive innovation and human-AI collaboration.
  • Use domain expertise to develop methodologies for data-related questions, defining requirements and analysis to solve ambiguous problems across multiple complex systems.
  • Act as a trusted authority by reviewing analyses and business cases, proactively addressing analytical challenges and quantifying uncertainty or risk.
  • Coach and develop direct reports and next-in-line leaders while contributing to the growth and vitality of the broader technical community.
