Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in the networking/data center/telecommunications industry, with 5 years of experience in program management leadership role.
  • Experience implementing process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in networking technologies, customer solutions and bid management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in growing talent, support individual career development, eliminating single point of competence situations and key position succession planning on all levels in your team.
  • Experience in a continuous improvement role with knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies, build relationships with key stakeholders, leadership and management.
  • Ability to lead and inspire geographically dispersed teams, build strong relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable initiatives and execute on them.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

We are seeking a dynamic leader to guide the US Edge Capacity organization for delivering Google Cloud Interconnect (GCI) capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a distributed team throughout North America, of skilled technical program managers and engineers who are instrumental in delivering and supporting Google’s networking solutions. You will lead and govern the delivery of GCI solutions for customers with a variety of demand from volume and timing perspectives. You will drive short- and long-term continuous improvement activities of the processes and performance to ensure our performance is market competitive in terms of lead-time, predictability and cost. You will be an internal advocate for operational safety as viewed through the customer’s lens.

You will be a thought leader and an agent of change with a proven track record of managing broad business process innovation that accelerates network delivery at scale. You will possess an understanding of the networking landscape, developing and mentoring talent.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead delivery projects including passive network design, material planning, equipment installation, and turn up of equipment to be ready to serve traffic.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic goal for the US GCI delivery team, aligning with overall EdgeCapacity, GGI and company goals and objectives. Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies in Google’s networking domain.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize the end-to-end project delivery to be market engaged for lead-time, predictability, quality and cost. Advocate a culture of proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across various internal organizations. 
  • Identify, mentor, and develop high-potential program managers and engineers, preparing them for future roles within the organization or with peer organizations in Google. Establish clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback.
