Software Engineer III, Education, AI Feature

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience with JavaScript web development.
  • 2 years of programming experience in Java.
  • Experience building and deploying fullstack applications and servers.
  • Experience with data analysis, problem-solving, machine learning, A/B testing.
  • Experience in applied machine learning (e.g., computer vision, transformers, generative AI, LLM).

We're looking for a skilled full-stack Software Engineer to join our team and help build AI tools and integrations that bring the best of Google's AI capabilities to educators and learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable, features and systems using Google’s full stack (e.g. Wiz, Flutter, Boq, Spanner).
  • Write and test high-quality code that powers AI tools in Google Classroom, ensuring a seamless experience for our users.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to other engineers to maintain code quality and promote best practices.
  • Manage individual project priorities, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results.
  • Participate in on-duty, triaging high priority issues and supporting the health of our AI tools.
