Minimum qualifications:
- Medical degree (e.g., MD, DO, MBBS).
- 7 years of experience in consumer-focused digital health research and product development focused on consumer health.
- 7 years of experience driving projects with cross-functional teams.
- 2 year of experience with AI in a health/healthcare setting.
- Specialized training in lifestyle medicine or a related specialty as demonstrated by completion of a relevant accredited residency or fellowship, as well as board certification, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with research in generative AI, including safety approaches and peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience in digital health evaluation and clinical research including experience designing and conducting real-world evaluations.
- Experience working in complex, ambiguous environments with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated track record taking a consumer focused health or wellness product from concept to market.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Recognition as a national leader in lifestyle medicine research and practice.
About the job
As a Clinical Specialist, you will be an effective and influential contributor to our work developing intelligent and intuitive tools that help improve health journeys for users. You will work cross-functionally, ideally with non-clinical teams such as software design, engineering, product management, regulatory affairs and research teams. You will have a demonstrable background working as a physician in lifestyle medicine with recognized expertise in clinical care, research and digital health. You will focus on consumer focused product development, generative AI and safety, conducting clinical research. You will work as part of the cross-functional team building personalized AI-powered health and wellness products to help people lead healthier and more active lives. You will use your clinical expertise to guide research and product development for the Fitbit and Pixel portfolio of trackers, smartwatches, and subscription experiences. You will help ensure our approach is grounded in scientific and clinical expertise and creates measurable value for people who want to use our products to help improve their health and wellbeing.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$254,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Use clinical expertise to provide guidance, insights and direction for Google’s consumer products, particularly wearables, working closely with research and product teams.
- Leverage scientific and clinical expertise in lifestyle medicine to design research studies and product requirements.
- Identify relevant evidence-based practices and scientific break-throughs to define strategic priorities and new opportunities to help people improve health and wellbeing using sensors and software.
- Contribute to the development of generative AI products to enhance access to reliable and credible information.
