Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience in C++, SQL, FlumeC++, f1-sql, and Dashboards.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience with memory reliability techniques such as ADDDC (Adaptive Double DRAM Device Correction), PPR (Post Package Repair). MPR (Memory Poison Recovery) etc., Linux Kernel, and Embedded Software (BIOS, BMC, or Diags) development experience.

The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Guide a team of engineers to elevate the reliability of our systems.
- Focus on crafting software/firmware solutions that fortify the reliability of servers and their components, spanning memory subsystems, PCIe Interface connecting to EP’s, cooling mechanisms, BIOS, BMC, and Kernel.
- Partner across Technical Infrastructure and Cloud teams, engaging with product managers, technical program managers, and fellow Software Engineer managers to influence the design and implementation of most compute and storage systems powering Google's data centers.
- Lead every facet of development, from requirements definition to design, implementation, unit testing, and integration. Oversee meticulous reviews to guarantee the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Foster high-level collaborations with vendors and represent the team in project planning discussions with executive management.
