Data Analyst, News, Partnerships, Compliance Ops

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Quantitative Science, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 6 years of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g. Python, R, Java, C++).
  • 3 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • Experience in analyzing data using spreadsheet software or building data pipelines and automated workflows.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience with designing experiments, developing statistical models, measurement, and identifying business opportunities.
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Experience in influencing executive leadership on investigative decision making.
  • Ability to effectively communicate analysis and recommendations across a wide range of non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to solve problems in complex, fluid, and ambiguous business environments through solid data intuition and business acumen.

As part of this team you fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, and then zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.

News Partnerships (NP) manages partnerships for Google’s News’ products and programs. These partnerships take many forms - premium content licensing, product integrations, consultative engagements to Digitally Transform or running innovation workshops to develop new solutions with the Industry.

In this role, you will work with News Partnerships’ leadership team to develop partnership and program strategies, build and align operating priorities, and drive compliance globally. You are a critical thinker, influencer, and leader with expertise in simplifying complexity and managing scaled programs at pace.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Work with various data sources, including large datasets (structured and unstructured) and CRM systems to get actionable insights from vast data sources and develop solutions for compliance for News Partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Partnerships, Engineering, and Legal to update data requirements, create reports, and provide insights.
  • Build and evaluate models for News compliance. 
  • Enhance the operational workflows, tools and systems via data analysis, technical expertise, and efficient process improvements.
