Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience working with multinational, dynamic technical construction programs/projects in cost negotiation, project controls, cost planning, estimating, and project procurement.
  • 5 years of experience in cost management or estimating for high-technology facility construction projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with enterprise cost systems.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
  • Understanding of accountability for the end-to-end project life-cycle.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple organizational levels, leading cross-functional process improvements.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a Program Manager, you will be a key driver in the efficient and cost-effective delivery of Google's expanding Data Center Portfolio. You will leverage your deep understanding of commercial operations and strong negotiation skills to directly engage with main and sub-contractors, ensuring cost alignment and optimizing procurement awards. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting the setup and delivery of robust cost management frameworks across multiple data center campuses, ultimately maximizing value and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on schedule. You will collaborate extensively with internal partner teams and external suppliers, leading commercial negotiations and driving continuous improvement in cost management practices throughout the project life-cycle.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute commercial negotiations with main and sub-contractors, focusing on cost alignment and driving cost/schedule optimization during procurement awards in collaboration with commercial and contracts teams.
  • Support the establishment and delivery of comprehensive cost management strategies and processes for data center projects and campuses, ensuring value creation and adherence to budget goals.
  • Collaborate with Data Center Project Managers and partner teams to implement and support project controls, including cost planning, forecasting, and reporting, at both site and regional levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost management by identifying and implementing best practices, optimizing commercial strategies, and aligning cost-driven needs to achieve impactful results.
