Technical Program Manager, Google Home Platform

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with software development and managing execution of programs.
  • Experience working with the latest consumer Hardware and Software technologies.
  • Experience working on Cloud APIs and smart home solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in the consumer hardware industry.
  • Experience building Enterprise Solutions features or Enterprise platform.
  • Ability to provide clear communication across cross-functional teams to drive transparency and end-to-end coordination of deliverables.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a member of the Google Home Platform, Developer Experiences Technical Program Manager (TPgM) team, you will own the Software Engineering schedule and product deliverables for Google Home Platform Enterprise Solutions, and manage integrations with key internal and external partners. You will focus on building and driving Home Platform Enterprise Solutions features which are essential for advancing smart home capabilities in both Google and partner apps.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage the full product lifecycle from feature concept to launch.
  • Use judgment to adjust program priorities effectively while navigating changing circumstances. Understand and manage expectations of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Own feature request intake and development process, including engineering sprints framework.
  • Own second-level bug triage and prioritization process, help developers focus on the most critical issues.
  • Drive software release schedules with well-defined milestones and integration with technical dependencies.
