About the job

Be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You'll contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration.

In this role, you will deliver interconnect technologies in a resilient supply chain to enable the scaling of Google’s data center infrastructure while mitigating risk and reducing total cost of ownership.

As the Interconnect Supply Base Engineer (SBE), you will oversee the complete supplier life-cycle, transitioning products from new product introductions (NPI) to high-volume manufacturing. You will bridge the gap between design and industrial production, ensuring the process stability necessary to realize Google's system hardware.

Acting as a technical link between vendors and Google’s cross-functional teams, you will optimize production methods, oversee supplier capacity, and strengthen supply chain resilience while mitigating risks.

Responsibilities

  • Build capacity models to validate supplier output against forecasts, and proactively resolve issues in assembly/test processes to streamline production and ensure scalability.
  • Identify single points of failure and qualifying second sources for critical sub-components.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into critical sub-tier components to secure sufficient capacity and optimize for resiliency to prevent production line-down situations.
  • Conduct on-site NPI and production audits to assess manufacturing maturity system controls.
  • Analyze supplier process/yield data to optimize processes, and partner with supplier quality engineers to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions. Collaborate on sourcing strategies with key cross-functional stakeholders.
