Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).
- 2 years of experience with a technical background working alongside software developers.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in project management.
- Experience with a technical background working alongside software developers.
- Experience working across multiple time zones.
- Understanding of Android/iOS from both the user and developer perspectives.
About the job
Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.

Responsibilities
- Build a portfolio of local vendors with Android and lead efforts on quality audits, sample code reviews, and content maintenance.
- Lead documentation projects by scoping work, securing stakeholder buy-in, delegating tasks, guiding execution, and communicating progress.
- Collaborate with Android DevRel engineers, Project Manager, engineers, and UX researchers to identify documentation needs and propose content plans to address them.
- Develop content strategy and editorial guidelines, delivering content that aligns with our information architecture (IA) and quality standards.
- Transform authoring and quality through new tools and workflows, such as using generative AI. Build a portfolio of local vendors with Android experience.
