Strategic Partner Manager, Devices and Services Sales

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience selling consumer electronics to Canadian retailers.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level and to successfully launch new products in the market.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, solve problems, and scale effectively across a large organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to comfortably interact with partner and Google executives.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.

About the job

The Canada retail team supports the entire Google portfolio of products from Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit under one team across all partners. As a Strategic Partner Manager for distribution in Specialized Devices and Services Sales, you deliver full pieces of a partner project that are integrated into overarching projects, with minimal assistance. You contribute to the identification, creation, discussion, and implementation of effective business development agreements that drive results. You also contribute to the integration with marketing to grow Business-to-Consumer, driving business and results across multiple channels. You plan and execute prioritized project work using appropriate methods and take initiative to develop your own goals with support from your manager. You are able to identify and recommend creative ways to improve solutions to defined problems for partners when identifying opportunities, structuring agreements, or creating joint partner business plans. You manage and maintain relationships with partners, acting as a primary contact for a partner list.

The Hardware Partnerships team was formed with the purpose of bringing the best of Google’s software and hardware to our users by bringing to market and distributing a Google-branded hardware portfolio. The team is responsible for managing all partnerships with carriers, retailers and resellers worldwide. This includes the partnerships for products such as Pixel, Google Wifi, Google Nest Thermostat, Chromecast Ultra and Google Home.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver full pieces of a partner project that are integrated into overarching projects, with minimal assistance, supporting internal sales where needed.
  • Contribute to the identification, creation, discussion, and implementation of effective retail partner agreements that drive results, including the execution of defined promotion activities and special placements.
  • Contribute to ongoing forecasting, observation, tracking, and reporting of devices market/competitor landscape using data.
  • Contribute to the integration with marketing, driving business and results across multiple channels.
  • Work within one or more teams to develop and refine go-to-market strategy and execute partner initiatives.
