Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience in video content ecosystems and business generation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading and closing partnership agreements, including experience with structuring and implementation.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and managing projects with multiple stakeholders in a changing environment.
  • Excellent phone and in-person business skills, with an understanding of publisher and advertising industry business models.
  • Excellent problem-solving and financial modeling skills, with the ability to assess partnership opportunities and develop business cases.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence stakeholders at all levels.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the drama-shorts vertical and additional high-growth apps verticals. You will be driving incremental business in your first year by capturing early adopters and activating the top goals who can move quickly. You will provide intensive incubation support, guiding partners through the nuances of hybrid business generation to maximize their business potential. Furthermore, you will act as a scout for future verticals potentially within the AI and subscription app sectors to drive business impact. By executing these strategies, you will help capture key new growth opportunities for Google Sellside. You will look toward the horizon, developing playbooks for the next wave of apps growth verticals, such as AI-generated video content and subscription-based utility apps. You will ensure that AdMob becomes the business partner for these emerging verticals upon their maturity, driving our big bets in the coming years.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$153,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the entry into high-growth verticals, specifically focusing on the drama-shorts market and emerging app ecosystems.
  • Execute the mission to activate the Americas (AMS) ecosystem, closing the business gap between US publishers and Asian developers.
  • Act as a consultant for partners, driving the adoption of hybrid business generation models that balance In-App Ads (IAA) and In-App Purchases (IAP).
  • Identify and develop playbooks for future growth sectors, including AI-generated video content and subscription-based utility apps.
  • Secure AdMob’s position as the primary business generation partner for emerging verticals to support "big bet" objectives over a 3–5 year horizon.
