The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

News Partnerships (NP) manages partnerships for Google’s News’ products and programs. These partnerships take many forms - from premium content licensing to regulatory compliance.

EMEA Strategy and Operations team works with News Partnerships EMEA leadership team to develop partnership strategies, build and align operating priorities, and drive global execution. We are critical thinkers, influencers, and leaders with expertise in simplifying complexity and managing scaled programs at pace.

We’re looking for an outstanding Strategy & Operations practitioner to partner with the News Partnerships team to help us build and execute country- and region-level News industry strategies, including licensing across Google product surfaces, scaled publisher education programs, and engagement across our key stakeholder groups in the industry.

To deliver on these goals, you will be comfortable doing many things in parallel - running operations for a program, thinking critically about strategic issues, identifying potential risks early and working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to mitigate them, and relentlessly streamlining operations. You will take ownership of projects and issues, and work collaboratively to navigate risks in order to help deliver the strategic objectives of the News Partnerships organization. You advocate operational excellence and adopt analytical approaches as appropriate.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the News Partnerships team to align global and regional priorities, running core operational processes across News Partnerships (e.g., reporting, planning).
  • Run quantitative analysis (modeling, forecasting, data storytelling) to help Google take a principled approach to News Programs.
  • Support strategic planning of News Partnerships efforts by designing and improving processes and governance frameworks to ensure operational excellence in decision-making and execution.
  • Providing day-to-day support for market approaches and discussions, measure and communicate the impact of programs.
  • Become a thought partner to your partnerships stakeholder and help them sharpen and refine their approach to strategic issues; coordinating with a variety of Google teams (e.g., Product, gTech, Finance, Legal).
