Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with back end development using one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Rust, Kotlin, or C++ codebases), and with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 1 year of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in Android OS.

The ChromeOS Security team has a dual mission, protecting ChromeOS users, including their devices and data, by ensuring the security of the entire platform; and enabling the ChromeOS organization to ship devices that are secure by default.

Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Build, improve, and maintain ChromeOS's security-enhancing features.
- Develop security features of an Android-based stack for the next generation of ChromeOS.
