Strategic Partner Development Manager, Labs, Tech and Society

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the media publishing, OEMs, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, Technology, or Social Impact industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, JD or advanced degree.
  • Experience designing and implementing processes and policies to improve Google’s ability to partner globally.
  • Experience with multi-sector partnerships (e.g., government agencies, NGOs, or commercial sector), or related experience in business development, partnerships, product management, general management, sales or a related field.
  • Ability to clarify and summarize issues and influence internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical/reasoning skills to structure partnership models and manage technical, contractual, and financial issues.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

The Labs, Tech, and Society Partnerships team forges strategic collaborations to accelerate AI innovation from experimentation to real-world impact.

The team builds strategic partnerships with leaders across industry, academia, government, and the creative sectors. These partnerships allow the team to explore the challenges and opportunities of AI, co-develop solutions that benefit society, and ensure Google remains a responsible leader in the field.

In this role, you will develop and execute the partnership and go-to-market strategy for Google Labs, Tech and Society, working with product and cross-functional leaders to source, negotiate, and launch high-impact collaborations.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and other cross-functional teams to drive partnerships from concept to launch to ongoing partner management.
  • Define partnership strategy, identify new product-enabling partnership opportunities, and develop go-to-market plans for product efforts.
  • Source and value potential partnerships, perform due diligence on the partner/content, and lead agreements through execution, or partner adoption as necessary for a new product ecosystem.
  • Understand product launches/plans and implications for Google and its partners, and lead related internal and external communication and strategies.
  • Manage coordination with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Policy, PR, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Finance) and other partnership teams, including regional counterparts around the world.
