Technical Program Manager, Subsea Capacity delivery, Global Submarine Networks

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 2 years of industry experience in the field Optical Engineering and Operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of telecom industry or submarine cable, optical fiber infrastructure, optical system design, and installation.
  • Ability to work in an environment where professional acumen is needed to support the decision.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written/verbal communication, organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communications and stakeholder management skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage submarine infrastructure delivery using standard project management tools.
  • Create strategies for maintaining and operating submarine line terminal equipment, including policies, procedures, operational plans, and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Compliance organizations to ensure seamless delivery of spectrum.
  • Create and validate tooling requirements for Channel Plan and deployment configurations.
  • Collaborate with partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to execute on infrastructure delivery and support operationalization of submarine network equipment, including management of communication, budget, and timing.
