Technical Program Manager, Data Center Construction, Content Delivery

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in managing projects/programs.
  • 5 years of experience in Construction Document Control and Construction Close-out within construction projects or programs.
  • 3 years of experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms, including Revit, and CAD software.
  • 3 years of experience in Portfolio Management related to construction close-out programs, to manage workflows and multi-project documentation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects, with the ability to balance multiple projects within provided timelines.
  • Experience with operating in mission critical environments. (e.g., Oil, gas, aeronautical, IT etc.).
  • Experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) software such as Revit, and VDC technology such as laser scanning/reality capture.
  • Experience with infrastructure project life-cycles including design, construction, commissioning, and handover to Operations.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards for document control such as 27000 series, 9000 series, and 10244.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary projects. You will plan requirements with internal customers and user projects through the entire project life-cycle. You will be managing project schedules, identifying risks and communicating goals to project stakeholders. You will work on span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the establishment and execution of document control processes. Manage Engineering Change Notice (ECN) workflows, optimize automated systems, and ensure compliance with regional, design, and construction standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end close-out process for projects. Ensure all project documentation is accurately compiled, validated, archived, and seamlessly handed over to operations teams for long-term facility management.
  • Provide oversight for portfolio management of close-out programs, including forecasting resource needs, coordinating with owner-direct vendors, consultants, and internal teams to meet documentation objectives across the data center fleet.
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Consistency and be a Subject matter expert on document control and close-out best practices for construction projects. Collaborate with regional documentation managers and key stakeholders to maintain consistency in tools and processes fleet-wide.
