Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6 years of industry experience in a Data Science role using statistics and machine learning to solve product or business problems.
- Experience in SQL and Python programming, including the application of machine learning or statistical libraries.
- Experience in a leadership role.
About the job
You will lead the team that focuses on evolving YouTube’s approach to the data we share in external regulatory reports including transparency reports, audits, risk assessments, action plans, and more. You will begin with a focus on trust and safety related data, and eventually consider other regulatory reporting data that would benefit from this sort of scaled data strategy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead the team charged with delivering data for transparency reporting globally, developing a strategy to move from our current report-focused approach to a holistic scaled reporting strategy.
- Understand the internal regulatory reporting data landscape/infrastructure, identify opportunities, and develop/execute plans to improve data pipelines for regulatory reporting.
- Analyze existing workflows, identify pain points, and develop streamlined approaches that enhance efficiency and accuracy while minimizing manual effort.
- Propose and evaluate new models and metrics for our business in a way that is appropriate for regulatory reporting. Develop work plans, OKRs, etc to ensure team delivers on commitments to meet evolving business needs.
- Lead project timelines and milestones, coordinating across teams to ensure delivery of data products and solutions.
