Technical Solutions Consultant, gUP Tech Risk and Compliance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with product management and engineering teams on software development projects, including managing technology projects throughout the product development lifecycle (from inception to completion).
  • Experience with solutions architecture and systems design (including experience with PRDs, DDs, PDDs, etc).
  • Experience delivering technical presentations, developing strategy and managing stakeholder relationships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
  • Experience turning broad, ambiguous problems into clear, well-structured projects.
  • Knowledge of consumer products, customer support, and next generation technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with complex, cross-functional teams on high-velocity projects.

This Technical Solutions Consultant is critical for implementing Risk, Compliance and Foundational solutions for technologies owned by the gUP Technical Solutions and Insights team (TSI), and tech teams Google partners with, like Privacy, Safety and Security (PSS) Engineering on top level OKRs.

In this role, you will support a variety of Risk reduction and Technical Foundations programs, such as customer data protection and supplier built tools governance. This would include things like the strategy and rollout of PSS-built technology solutions for reducing unjustified and overprovisioned access, designed to balance enforcement of Security policies with minimizing friction for the business to achieve a desired Risk profile. You will also be responsible for data hygiene of Technology Risks, Issues, Action Plans and Controls for gUP Technical Solutions documented in Alphabet’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems, including knowledge of data structure and platform expertise of Google’s Risk Management System (RMS) and Comply.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $123,000-$176,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering consultation to internal partners, or stakeholders.
  • Advise throughout the end-to-end product development life cycle, supporting from pre-launch, to deployment, to ongoing support of daily business.
  • Support design and development of customized, scalable technical solutions and tools and advocate them throughout gUP.
  • Monitor product and platform performance and identify opportunities to optimize.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across teams like Engineering, Operations, Product, Legal, Risk and Compliance.
