Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of work experience in statistical speciality (causal inference, econometrics, generalized linear models, experiment design, bayesian statistics, advanced forecasting, machine learning, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in statistical speciality (causal inference, econometrics, generalized linear models, experiment design, bayesian statistics, advanced forecasting, machine learning, etc.).
  • Experience working in the digital Ads business.
  • Strong communication and presentation (written and verbal) skills with the ability to tailor presentations to different audiences.

About the job

The YouTube Business Go-To-Market team is responsible for driving all Go-To-Market functions for the YouTube Business Organization, including strategy and business operations, analytics and data science, partnership enablement, and product activation. The team shapes Go-To-Market priorities to accelerate growth and resource the business accordingly, enhancing skills and capabilities to support execution of business priorities, driving efficiency across business operations, and building excellent go-to-market infrastructure (e.g., data, reports, dashboards).

As a Senior Music Data Scientist in YouTube Business Go-To-Market Music & MediaCo Analytics team (M&M) you will work closely with data scientists and StratOps across YouTube Product and Ads to apply an analytical lens to solving Music business problems. You will need to leverage techniques from causal inference, advanced statistical modeling, and/or forecasting. It will be your responsibility to determine the best approach for solving problems, and communicate clearly with decision-makers who may or may not have a strong technical background.

We use a large set of tools from experimental to observational techniques, touching on a broad range of problems from different functional and product areas.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists across the YouTube Product and Ads business to rationalize Music trends across all of YouTube and surface the impact to the Music business.
  • Design and lead causal studies to answer critical business questions related to Music Earnings trends.
  • Present and communicate actionable insights and recommendations to executives, leaders, and cross-functional partners.
