Sustaining Quality Program Manager, Pixel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical quality role (e.g., reliability, failure analysis, field quality) for hardware products in consumer electronics, automotive, or medical device sectors.
  • Ability to travel 25% to manufacturing sites, supplier facilities, or service/repair locations worldwide for investigations and audits.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Pareto analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE)).
  • Experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for hardware systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze field performance data (e.g., telemetry, Return Materials/Merchandise Authorization (RMA) data, customer feedback, diagnostic logs) to identify trends, anomalies, and potential quality issues.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations for field failures, collaborating with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Drive containment actions and permanent corrective actions for identified quality issues, ensuring implementation across the supply chain.
  • Partner with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to provide feedback from the field, collaborating with future product designs and manufacturing processes for improved quality. Work with suppliers to address component and sub-assembly quality issues impacting field performance.
  • Generate regular reports on field quality performance, communicate insights to stakeholders, and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
