Senior Accountant

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in applying US GAAP standards to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance, familiarity with SEC reporting requirements and procedures.
  • Experience in public accounting, including leading audits of financial statements for public companies.
  • Ability to handle a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret ASC 606 guidance to ensure accurate business reporting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities, in an ambiguous and evolving area of scope.

In this role, you will handle the core accounting and compliance responsibilities at Google. You will know the accounting principles and the full financial process end to end. You will advise on financial and accounting matters and will review, analyze, and interpret data for accounting and reporting - Every day is a new tests, and you will be looking for ways to help our team get better at what we do, you will collaborate with our global team, share best practices and pitch in when needed. Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for Cloud Controllership, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of business and expenses to key stakeholders.
  • Drive the successful completion of legal entity audits through project management of audit timelines and deadlines, providing regular and timely updates to management, presenting insightful reports to leadership, and collaborating across multiple cross-functional teams and with external auditors.
  • Create detailed documentation for all processes and tasks with the expectation of keeping these up-to-date with an fluid environment.
  • Design and implement solutions that can scale, elevating steady-state manual processes to a semi-automated or automated scalable solution.
  • Understand the existing control environment with the ability to further identify risks and communicate and execute opportunities for improvements.
