Senior Network Engineer, Cloud VMware Engine

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience designing, building, and operating Wi-Fi networks.
  • Experience in a programming language such as Python, Go, etc.
  • Experience with Network Administration, Network Architecture, Network Troubleshooting, Network Design, Routing Protocols, MPLS VPN, Network Diagnostics and Firewalls.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with VMware, Cisco Switches, Network Security and proficiency with many of the following Cloud Networking technologies: IS-IS, VXLAN, BGP, EVPN, Network Virtualization.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, managing and troubleshooting of NSXT, HCX based solutions.
  • Knowledge of Linux networking functionalities and Network Design.

The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the quantifiable analysis of measurements, or data and capacity forecast models for making networks more scalable, efficient, and deliver predictable user experience.
  • Evaluate the current inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems, and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them.
  • Monitor and manage google cloud networking capacity in partnership with Google cloud networking teams.
  • Run Customer's On-premise VMware workloads natively on Google Cloud.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-to-end customer networking issues across the google cloud interconnects, customer on-premises networks.
