Business Analyst III, Jigsaw (Fixed Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 6 years of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, etc.).
  • Experience managing relationships with external vendors or partners.
  • Experience working with platforms or publishers to improve online content quality.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as machine learning (ML) or large language models (LLMs).

Google's leadership team hand-picks thorny business challenges, and members of BizOps work in small teams to find solutions. As part of this team you fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, and then zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.

In this role, you'll support key initiatives at Jigsaw. You will work in an environment focused on developing innovative technologies such as the Perspective API and Sensemaker Library, contributing to projects that enhance online discourse.

Jigsaw is a unit within Google that explores threats to open societies and builds technology that inspires scalable solutions. Our team addresses a range of global security challenges including defending against digital attacks, mitigating the rise of online hate and harassment, countering extremism, and fighting censorship. Jigsaw offers mission-driven work within a nimble interdisciplinary team, connections to academia and civil society, and a quick path to taking technology public.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$207,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Complete and communicate the impact of key Jigsaw projects.
  • Lead research, customer analysis, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform project direction.
  • Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for impactful projects, defining requirements and success metrics.
  • Collaborate with marketing leads on marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal/external partners to define strategies, align resources, and drive successful outcomes.
