  • Experience developing and running scaled operational work and processes.
  • Experience or in-depth knowledge of consumer electronics, digital services, or consumer information products, with a particular specialty in sales, partnerships, and marketing functions.

About the job

As the Managing Director of Devices & Services, Commercial Strategy & Operations, you will lead a global team of high-performing strategy and business operations practitioners, focused on Google’s Platforms & Devices (P&D) go-to-market efforts and organization.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the P&D executive leadership within the P&D Commercial organization. You will focus on accelerating the growth and impact of P&D’s commercial channel business, encompassing Google’s first-party devices and services (e.g., Pixel, Nest, Fitbit), and coordinating with the commercial strategies of Android Ecosystem and P&D Enterprise. You will be instrumental in shaping Google’s commercial (GTM) vision, strategy, and growth plan, identifying and prioritizing market, channel, and partner opportunities, evolving operational cadence, and optimizing organizational effectiveness (including the CoS function for the Commercial organization). You will be a key leader on the extended commercial team, driving transformation and delivering exceptional results.

In this role, you will drive transformative executive-level strategy and impact. You will lead global GTM operational processes, build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders, and work cross-functionally to advocate change and drive ever-higher performance. You will not only motivate but also serve as a strong developmental coach, empowering your team to reach their full potential. You will employ an analytical approach to driving strategy, leading change programs, and fostering operational excellence.

The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $315,000-$439,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Act as core Strategy business leader for the Platforms & Devices Commercial organization, identifying and leading executive-level strategic initiatives to grow Google’s critical business and GTM impact in the market.
  • Support the commercial health of Google’s Platforms & Devices organization, working with cross-functional stakeholders to develop, execute, monitor and refine action-plans to drive the business forward.
  • Drive operational excellence for the Platforms & Devices Commercial organization to support execution of the highest priority business and GTM goals (e.g., resource planning and allocation, organization structures, operating cadence, etc), and drive alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships teams and with key executive cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage, motivate, coach and develop an exceptional team of StratOps practitioners.
