Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
- PhD in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.
- 3 years of experience in developing and deploying machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models in production.

The Real World Journeys team’s mission is to inspire action by connecting people with experiences that make life better.In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with leads across Engineering, Product and User Experience (UX) to uncover new product opportunities for Small and Medium Business (SMB) strategy through data-motivated insights. You will play a role in shaping the future of Google Search for Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) users, leveraging emerging technologies like Large Language Model (LLMs) to drive product innovation. You will apply advanced modeling techniques (e.g., LLM, causal inference, machine learning) to address SMB business tests and design research based on user survey data.In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. Responsibilities
- Work with data sets and solve non-routine investigative tests, apply problem solving methods, and conduct analysis including data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, and presentations.
- Use custom data infrastructure or existing data models as design and evaluate models to express and solve defined problems with limited precedent.
- Apply machine learning, statistical analysis, and causal inference to address business tests.
- Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources, format, re-structure, or validate data to ensure quality, and review the dataset to ensure it is ready for analysis.
- Perform in-depth data exploration from data to uncover insights and drive strategy and provide data-motivated recommendations to guide opportunities and prioritization.
