Web Solutions Engineer Lead, YouTube Business Technology Support Systems

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience building and testing APIs or web applications.
  • 5 years of experience in large systems design and integration.
  • 4 years of experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager.
  • 4 years of experience working with teams and business stakeholders to create product roadmaps.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of software development and design experience.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies.
  • Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems.
  • Experience working with systems for collaborative code reviews, version control, continuous integration and automated testing.
  • Experience with creating system/product designs and leading them to launch.

About the job

As a Web Solutions Engineer on the YouTube Business Technology team, you will be responsible for managing solutions that make YouTube more efficient.

You will be part of an engineering team responsible for developing and supporting tools, prototyping proofs of concept, and writing/reviewing technical design documents to meet the needs of our teams. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000-$267,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Understand YouTube business priorities and goals to design, build, and deploy software platforms for teams within YouTube.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement enterprise-level system integrations, ensuring data flow and inter-operability across various platforms and applications.
  • Ensure that all technical solutions are designed in a way that meet enterprise technology standards using standard and Google-specific software development tools.
  • Write and review technical documents, including design, development, revision documents and review code in compiled or scripted languages.
  • Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements as well as execute testing, debugging, maintenance or program updates.
