- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate advisory, or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading strategy work on ambiguous business problems, collaborating with wide sets of stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Experience working with large datasets, identifying patterns and key insights, and troubleshooting data integrity issues.
- Experience managing and enhancing business tools with a wide user base.
- Ability to identify and solve problems within a given project scope.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

The Global News Partnerships Team brings a “one Google” face to the news ecosystem in order to source content used across Google product areas, provide critical support and funding to the ecosystem, drive adoption of Google products, and shape constructive regulation that is in the best interests of Google and the ecosystem.The News Partnerships Strategy and Operations team is seeking a highly motivated and investigative Strategy and Operations Lead to drive strategic initiatives and enhance data-driven decision-making for News Partnerships. In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our partnerships. As part of this, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing our agreement pipeline tool, developing insightful reports and dashboards that inform leadership decisions.
You will be able to flex from addressing ambiguous strategic problems, to managing data tools and troubleshooting data issues, all in collaborating with stakeholders. You will be comfortable thinking critically about strategic issues, relentlessly optimizing operations, executing quantitative and qualitative analyses, preparing briefings and decision framing documents, and structuring and organizing execution. You will take ownership of projects and work collaboratively to deliver impactful outcomes.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$170,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Drive strategic projects supporting the broader News Partnerships organization, conducting research, analyses, and developing presentations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the News Partnerships' operating expense (opex) picture, including budget, actual spend, and forecasts.
- Drive annual planning processes for operating expenses (opex) in collaboration with the News Partnerships organization, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Serve as an owner of our agreement pipeline management tool, ensuring data integrity, troubleshooting issues, and leading change management efforts to ensure consistent inputs across the organization.
- Develop and maintain robust dashboards and reports that provide leadership with actionable insights.
