Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management, developing consumer electronics, or engineering related program management.
  • Experience with consumer hardware, cross-functional teams, engineering, industrial/product design in module development, vendor development/management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience shipping consumer electronics or similar devices.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and OEMs, with knowledge of consumer hardware development, manufacturing, vendor relations, and CM management.
  • Ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors to achieve project goals through collaboration.
  • Ability to lead initiatives, tasks, and adapt plans in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to drive multiple tasks and ship products.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product development, ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet specified features and quality goals.
  • Manage development schedules and cross-functional teams, coordinate engineering and operations teams, and support communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues, address potential problems, resolve conflicts, and ensure product manufacturability.
  • Balance schedule, cost, performance, and user experience trade-offs, and manage priorities to achieve project outcomes.
  • Enhance project productivity and stakeholder communication, synthesize data into concise narratives, and develop strategies and tools to improve efficiency and ensure communication with stakeholders.
