Controls Testing and Compliance Associate

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience working in an audit or compliance role, assessing risks, testing controls and recommending process and controls improvements using industry best practices.

Preferred qualifications:

  • CPA/CIA/CCEP/RIMS-CRMP/CISA or related certification.
  • Experience in risk management lifecycle, audit or compliance programs in large organizations.
  • Experience in identifying and assessing risks and designing and testing controls or compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and delivering on commitments and work with teams cross-functionally and cross-regionally.

gTech's Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) team empowers Product Areas (PAs) to optimize outsourced operations while reducing risks and driving efficiency through the enforcement of Google best practices and policies. We advocate for informed decision-making, ensuring our partners find the right talent in the right locations. Our collaboration across Google leads to streamlined processes, minimizing administrative burdens and optimizing the extended workforce (xW) experience. We ensure Google's policies and guidelines are consistently adhered to.

The Risk and Compliance (R&C) team transforms compliance into a competitive advantage by equipping business partners with guidance and empowering execution within risk tolerances. The R&C Monitoring team executes a trust but verifies philosophy by ensuring our supplier's controls work as intended through various monitoring activities.

Responsibilities

  • Use existing frameworks to support controls testing programs.
  • Support and run controls testing projects, including both design and operating effectiveness primarily in various risk domains including labor, contingent workers, info security, health and safety, and privacy.
  • Identify and address control gaps and develop corrective action plans with control owners. Remediate gaps and issues with control owners. Recommend process improvements.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on controls testing status, key risks, and remediation efforts. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding compliance requirements and expectations.
  • Collaborate and provide clear guidance and support to internal stakeholders and external consultants on all controls testing matters. Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on controls testing compliance risks and best practices.
