Enterprise Abuse Analyst, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Experience in SQL.
  • Experience in Stakeholder and Project Management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience collecting, managing and synthesizing large data sets and information from disparate sources, statistical modeling, data mining and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of high-level product and policy, and the ability to both understand and design training roadmaps.
  • Ability to translate investigative insights into business strategies and actions, with excellent problem solving and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, including data management, metrics analysis, experiment design and automation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As an Enterprise Abuse Analyst, you will be a key contributor to the strategy for monitoring the behavior of scaled/enterprise partners on YouTube. You will be solving technological challenges and setting scalable standards. You will balance the short term issues we face while demonstrating the ability to see the bigger picture and make quantitatively based long-term recommendations accordingly.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced statistical methods to large complex data sets in an effort to understand the impact of enterprise abuse issues, issues with Content ID and abuse to the YouTube ecosystem. Contribute strategy and development of new workflows against additional known vectors of YouTube enterprise abuse and abuse.
  • Learn complex and technical concepts and systems and deliver meaningful results using them. Communicate highly technical results and methods clearly.
  • Perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities and drive anti-abuse experiments to prevent abuse. Work with engineers and cross-functional partners such as policy and legal to improve operational workflows via process improvements and automation.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop guidelines and policies that restrict abuse and instead ensure that scaled partners contribute to a healthy party ecosystem. Communicate those policies to the partner organization.
