Senior Software Engineering Manager, Labs

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Javascript).
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
  • 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in developing systems that use AI, large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience in designing and building developer tools that improve productivity, automation and quality and integrate in the software development workflow.
  • Experience in managing AI-powered systems with reliability, quality and performance.
  • Ability to lead engineering teams in building and delivering products from conception to launch.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the team, set clear expectations, provide regular performance feedback, and mentor engineers to support their growth while fostering a collaborative, performing team culture.
  • Guide team in building reliable, and quality Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered developer tools, empower tech leads and ensure best practices.
  • Define clear goals, prioritize, and organize the team for successful delivery of software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define and evolve the product roadmap for AI-motivated software development.
  • Improve team operations, processes, and hiring to build a strong engineering team.
