About the job
This position is specific to the construction arm of the overall Google Data Center departments.
As a Principal Engineer, you will report to the Distinguished Engineer, and in turn the Vice President, that is responsible for the technical content of the designs and deliverables that go into building a working data center.
In this role, you will be responsible for the electrical scope, accuracy of the solution, completeness of the design, and adherence to the business goals with the design proposed by Data Center Technology and Systems (DCTS). You will work closely with the other Principal Engineer, that is mechanical in discipline, to deliver a solution that can be built.
Additionally, you will communicate and understand the needs of the field teams, the systems architecture teams, operations, procurement and all the varied product teams that collaborate in building a data center. You will take all these inputs and help resolve any issues that arise in real time across multiple geographies and working methods and norms.
