Data Center Security Manager, CSRM

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors.
  • 5 years of experience coordinating or managing resources for data center locations, and leading operational or project based work and tasks.
  • 3 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, or a related finance function.
  • 2 years of experience in project management and project execution.
  • Experience with security operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience coordinating or leading security, planning security operations or strategy for security programs.
  • 2 years of experience with data center technologies, infrastructure, and methodologies.
  • 2 years of experience managing incidents and crises.
  • Experience with planning tools to forecast demand and establish inventory min/max levels.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytical tools to transform raw system health data into actionable dashboards for executive reporting.
  • Familiarity with the global service delivery models and labor structures of major integrators specifically within hyperscale data center environments.

As a Data Center Security Manager, you deliver full pieces of a project and make significant contributions with minimal guidance. You use your knowledge of security technology, data analysis, and data visualization to plan efforts of a team responsible for small to medium sized initiatives by delivering value-added perspectives and influencing project direction. You contribute to cross-team collaborations, identify and recommend multiple creative ways to solve defined problems. You also demonstrate the behaviors expected of all Googlers as captured in Google's cultural pillars, and you engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations, making Google a better place to work.

As a Data Center Security Manager in Compliance, Strategy, and Risk Management (CSRM) team, you will be the process owner for the programmatic management of our embedded, reaction, and preventative maintenance work streams. You will centralize management by eliminating regional silos and supply chain bottlenecks. You will govern the global vendor partnerships, stabilize the device supply chain and drive a X% reduction in break-fix lead times, ensuring unified oversight and financial integrity from a centralized hub.

In this role, you will use your expertise in security technologies (CCTV, Access Control) and large-scale project implementation ensures high-quality, customer-oriented program delivery. You act as the single source of truth for technical program integrity, budgeting, and performance monitoring globally, ensuring security is baked in across the global infrastructure.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $101,000-$144,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collect feedback, ensure documentation is up to date, and facilitate discussions to follow up with cross-team stakeholders. Propose or implement changes for continuous improvement with minimal guidance.
  • Define technical security solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
  • Carry out security strategy and help develop a set of security standards and best practices for Google and identify security enhancements. Help develop security strategies, including proactive and reactive protocols and processes to keep Googlers safe.
  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions based on defined problems with multiple solutions.
  • Perform non-standard risk assessments and provide feedback to internal design teams for a variety of IT structures (i.e., when to use landing stations versus warehouses).
