About the job
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Technical Program Manager responsible for Android Content and Applications Frameworks, you will work with Software Engineers (SWE), Technical Program Managers (TPgM), Product Managers, User Experience, and Engineering Productivity to ensure features are launched on speculated, time and quality. You will need excellent communication skills to be the go-to person for all questions about process, timelines, quality, and progress updates. You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks, making sound judgements about schedule, quality, readiness to launch and ensure the Content and Applications Frameworks (CAF) team’s commitments to the partners are met.
You will need to define scope, plan and drive ambiguous programs and processes that address significant challenges that directly impact Android business and PA-level OKRs.
You will work across cross-functional product areas, internally (within Google) and externally (with OEMs and SoCs and other partners) with focus on framework capabilities. You will build features and tools that impact thousands of developers and billions of users.
Responsibilities
- Scope, plan and lead the execution of ambiguous cross-functional programs that directly impact Android business.
- Drive planning and execution for CAF features on a yearly and quarterly basis.
- Coordinate the launch of CAF features via the Android platform release and mainline release processes, and between build and release activity across multiple sites including Mountain View, Bengaluru and London. Adapt to drive discussions in different time zones as required.
- Identify risks and work with the CAF leads on solutions to enable third-party developers and OEM partners to leverage CAF features.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
