Industry Director, Retail

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of sales experience with 5 years of people management experience.
  • Experience working in tech selling to the retail industry.
  • Experience in digital marketing channels, consumer mobile products, online products, and online advertising technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with or reporting to C suites.
  • Experience in leading and building distributed, dynamic sales teams supporting a portfolio of highly advanced advertisers.
  • Experience with sales management in media sales environments such as an online player, platform, agency, or brand.
  • Deep knowledge of and passion for Google’s performance marketing/ad products and offerings across search, display, and video.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive data integration to unlock incremental budgets.
  • Commercial acumen with a track record of success in sales management and quota attainment.

As an Industry Director, you will lead a high-performing sales team, nurturing talent and managing key client relationships. You will drive your dynamic sales team towards significant revenue growth and increased product adoption, always prioritizing client and partner satisfaction. In addition, you will develop and strengthen C-level connections, leading innovative advertising solutions, and coach your team to develop ambitious account plans and execute strategies, empowering clients to succeed in a world of on-demand viewership and AI solutions using Google's products and services.

Google's Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams are strategic partners and industry thought leaders to the world's leading brands and agencies. We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000-$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Establish operating excellence and strong collaboration across the sector vertical, forging deep relationships with key partners by advising on performance product strategies.
  • Align quarterly and annual sector and the vertical business planning process to solve for clients’ key objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to provide clients with solutions that best meet their objectives across our performance products. Incubate new strategic initiatives/businesses impacting the sector.
  • Hire, train, develop, and mentor an industry-leading team.
