Audio Systems Engineer, Devices and Services

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a consumer hardware technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with standard audio measurement and analysis tools, (e.g., ACQUA, SoundCheck, Audio Precision, Audition, Matlab/Python).
  • Experience in audio system design, tuning, and validation (e.g., acoustics, microphones, digital signal processing, power/thermal).
  • Experience with Audio DSP theory and Acoustics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Acoustics, Signal Processing, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 7 years of experience in Consumer Hardware, productizing new technology.
  • Experience with media processing, microphone processing, psychoacoustic processing, filter design, audio and system tuning.
  • Experience in wearable audio systems design, tuning, and validation, including power and thermal considerations for micro-acoustics.
  • Experience in audio technology system integration.
  • Experience in objective and subjective audio quality assessment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product, Acoustic, Algo, and Software teams to define and develop wearable audio systems and deliver solutions that meet key user experiences.
  • Develop tools, tuning strategies, and automate new methodologies to launch wearable audio solutions.
  • Lead wearable audio systems design, tuning and validation, including power and thermal considerations, and develop and update the audio KPIs based on the product definition.
  • Liaise with external vendors to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the wearable audio roadmap definition by investigating new technologies.
