- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working with modern video codecs (H.264, HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1).
- Experience in C/C++ or Verilog/VHDL development.
- Experience in hardware driver and firmware development.
- Experience in software design, problem solving and debugging.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
- 6 years of experience in designing core algorithms for video codec implementations.
- Experience with imaging process and video algorithm development.
- Experience in high-level synthesis hardware design methodologies.
- Experience in FPGA prototyping and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Codec architecture of HW design or SW implementation.

Responsibilities
- Perform designing, implementation, testing, and deployment of software services that helps Google SoC architecture exploration in terms of power and performance. This includes writing high-quality code in languages like Python, SQL, and adhering to team coding standards.
- Analyze and resolve bugs reported by internal teams or automated monitoring systems. Develop and implement solutions to improve the stability and reliability of our services.
- Work with large datasets to identify trends and anomalies in SoC power and performance reports. Contribute to the development of dashboards and visualizations to aid in monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Write high-quality technical documentation, including design documents, code comments, and user guides.
- Provide power-performance trade-off analyses for engineering reviews and product roadmap decisions.
