Strategic Partner Development Lead, Platforms and Devices

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or management consulting in relevant industries (e.g., Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEM, Telecom, Retail).
  • Experience managing and negotiating commercial agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA degree.
  • Experience with planning and managing at both the strategic and operational level within a sales environment with repeated financial and expansion success.
  • Experience working in business development and sales in a fast-paced industry with mobile devices and services.
  • Experience with both in-store and digital merchandising planning, including physical merchandising operational cycles.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, solve complex problems and scale effectively across a large organization, including excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of reaching and exceeding goals with increasing levels of responsibility/independence and building relationships with clients.

About the job

The Hardware Partnerships team was formed with the purpose of bringing the best of Google’s software and hardware to our users by bringing to market and distributing a Google-branded hardware portfolio. The team is responsible for managing all partnerships with carriers, retailers and resellers worldwide. This includes the partnerships for all Pixel Phones and Pixel Mobile Device products.

This role focuses on Google-branded hardware across product categories. Our team is responsible for managing partnerships with our top carriers and strategic growth partners, including developing channel strategy, negotiating commercial terms, marketing and merchandising, and overall market share goals. We partner cross-functionally with marketing, product & engineering, finance and retail marketing teams internally, and with our carrier counterparts across these disciplines.

In this role, you will be reporting into the General Manager responsible for developing and leading relationships within carriers and strategic growth partners in the US. You will be charged with leading Google’s product success, focused on driving volume share for Pixel, and other Google branded hardware. The role requires your help to manage product launches, promotional planning, sell out tracking and collaborative forecasting. You’ll be part of a broader Pixel Mobile Product team focused on all aspects of our mobile business, including retail merchandising, training relationship management, and solving problems at a country level. You will partner cross-functionally with the marketing, business management, finance, sales operations, retail operations, demand planning, and product teams at Google to drive a successful business plan that helps us reach our goals.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$166,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the introduction, and management of Google’s hardware products, sales planning, target setting forecasting, and budget allocations.
  • Develop compelling and engaging promotional plans, leveraging the collective marketing assets made available by Google and a US partner.
  • Analyze promotional results, seasonality curves and competitive landscape to inform future decisions.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure Google remains top of mind for the assigned partner, retail and marketing leadership, and especially with consumers and associates alike.
  • Plan in-store merchandising updates in partnership with cross-functional teams, aligning to required internal and external lead times while also leveraging best practices and driving innovation.
