Minimum qualifications:

Google is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst for their Sanctions Screening Operations team. This is described as a hybrid role that uses both business intelligence and data science techniques. The core focus is to optimize sanctions screening, improve risk detection, and provide valuable insights. Key responsibilities include developing analytics, building models, creating reports, dashboards, and monitoring key metrics. The ultimate goal is to enhance the global sanctions screening program and ensure compliance by using data to identify and mitigate risks, requiring a keen interest in regulatory compliance and risk management.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $88,000-$126,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Apply data science techniques, including statistical modeling and analysis, to optimize sanctions screening rules, algorithms, and thresholds to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.
  • Develop and maintain automated reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to monitor the performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of sanctions screening operations and key risk indicators.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in screening data that may indicate emerging risks or opportunities for optimization.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and SQL to extract, clean, transform, and analyze large datasets from various sources.
  • Present investigative findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including compliance, legal, and operations leadership.
