Supplier Quality Engineer, Interconnect

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Interconnect related equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • 5 years of experience as a Quality, Reliability or Product Engineer
  • 3 years of experience in Interconnect manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • American Society for Quality certification (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA).
  • 5 years of experience in Quality/Reliability and Interconnect technology
  • Understanding of Interconnect manufacturing and test processes.

As an Interconnect Supplier Quality Engineer, you will join the team responsible for setting and managing the supplier quality and reliability standards for our Interconnect Infrastructure across Google. You are a Quality and Reliability expert with a track record of improving the quality of Interconnect deliverables during New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as maintaining it throughout their life cycle. You will have involvement in the tools, processes and technologies used to assess Interconnect product quality and reliability. You have partner management skills to shift paradigm through data and use it to drive design or manufacturing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supplier quality and reliability of Interconnect deliverables throughout the life cycle. Drive cross-functional activities in the supply chain for overall technical operational readiness in all NPI phases leading into Production.
  • Provide consultation to the design, manufacturing and commodity teams in qualification, and application of interconnect technologies.
  • Assess suppliers’ capabilities from a quality perspective as part of new supplier selection activities. Conduct quality and manufacturing process audits at current and potential suppliers.
  • Work cross-functionally to define and ensure processes in place to provide the data required to manage quality and reliability. Interface with suppliers on a regular basis to share feedback from the fleet and drive Return Material Authorization (RMA), Corrective Action Requests (CAR), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Analysis (FA).
