Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in Python or Java, in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to project delivery with a focus on enhancing developer workflows and productivity.
  • Experience in software development or test automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including an understanding of algorithms and their complexity analysis.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills with a systematic approach to issue resolution.

In this role, you'll enhance the experience for service producers on Google Cloud's Console Platform. Our team elevates developer and test infrastructure across the Console Platform, prioritizing speed, reliability, and adoption for internal service producers. You'll contribute to significant impact through infrastructure, frameworks, tools, processes, automation, metrics, insights, and comprehensive testing strategies, including, designing and implementing infrastructure and tools, optimizing development and testing processes, developing and deploying automation solutions, establishing key metrics and providing insightful data, creating and executing comprehensive testing strategies. You will partner with internal teams on varied projects. You'll build key testing frameworks impacting Google Cloud engineers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop key building blocks of test infrastructure using Python or Java, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with Console Platform partners to provide expertise and support for their test infrastructure, integration testing, and pre-production validation efforts.
  • Analyze the software development life-cycle to identify opportunities for significant improvements in engineering productivity, design systems and drive the implementation of effective solutions.
  • Participate as a core team member in design discussions, roadmap and goals planning, and the on-call rotation, contributing to the team's success and operational excellence.
