Strategic Partner Development Manager, Apps, Google Play (English, Mandarin)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, consulting, partnerships, or business/marketing
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently to partner with local and Asia-Pacific (APAC) clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in leading partnerships with mobile games/apps developers.
  • Knowledge of mobile apps, apps development, distribution platforms, business models, and value chains.
  • Ability to negotiate partnership agreements, structure agreements, and drive business growth with excellent business acumen.
  • Excellent networking skills with the ability to establish and manage relationships with partners at all levels.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will be an advisor and advocate for leading Apps developers, promoting their growth and success on the Android platform and Google Play. You will leverage the industry expertise and business acumen to manage partnerships, negotiate agreements, and unlock new business opportunities for developers and Google.

We build and distribute products through partnerships across a multitude of product areas, including Ads, Search & Assistant, Geo, Platforms & Ecosystems, Devices & Services, Health, Retail, Payments, Next Billion Users, and more. We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our most complex and strategic partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the partnership strategy for app developers in Greater China, identify and prioritize opportunities for mutual growth.
  • Provide data-motivated insights and guidance to partners, helping them optimize their apps business on Google Play.
  • Work with product, engineering, marketing, Go-To-Market, Strategic Operations (StratOps) and payment teams to shape platform features and commercial initiatives that benefit developers and users.
  • Advocate for Google Play and Android, drive adoption of products and features among partners.
  • Stay up to date by monitoring market trends, engaging landscape, and emerging opportunities in the App industry.
