Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to interact with local clients and region partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and managing partnerships with the ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of management internally and externally.
  • Experience in business, account management, or strategy/business development.
  • Knowledge of Internet media including mobile spaces, search engines, and online advertising players and business models.
  • Excellent investigative, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to work in a changing and collaborative environment.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

The Sellside Monetization team enables digital platforms, properties and content creators by enriching digital ecosystems for all and developing products and partnerships using reach, insights, and people. The Sellside Greater China team is responsible for growing Google's business with publishers in web, apps and video in the local market with solutions including AdSense, AdMob, Ad Manager and other Google products.

In this role, you will build relationships with the partners across different verticals including Gaming, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Media and Entertainment, etc. You will build partnerships that deliver economic value to partners and Google while protecting shared ecosystem and Google’s reputation. You will be driving growth in the business generation.Google’s Global Partnerships team powers extraordinary user experiences through partnerships that solve users’ needs, advance our partners’ goals, and further Google’s mission. Our team provides meaningful solutions — from helping publishers and developers grow their businesses through monetization solutions, to helping our long-term partners anticipate and navigate change in a way that delivers economic and reputational value. We build and distribute products through partnerships across a multitude of product areas, including Ads, Search and Assistant, Geo, Platforms & Ecosystems, Devices & Services, Health, Retail, Payments, Next Billion Users, and more. We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our most complex and strategic partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support media and entertainment partners in Greater China to drive their ads business generation with Google and enhance One Google partnership.
  • Assist business goals by proposing solutions. Promote new products or features that will have a positive impact on partner relationships. Provide thought leadership, define strategy and drive execution of agreements.
  • Build relationships with partners and develop a understanding of their business tests.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders including leadership and other functions, such as Product, Trust and Safety, Business Finance and Marketing to drive success for partners.
