Database Practice Go-To-Market Sales Lead

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in a sales role in the enterprise software or cloud space.
  • People management experience within a quota-carrying team.
  • Experience selling database or data management technologies to clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience planning and organizing go-to-market strategies, business programs, and sales activity within the team and territory.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams to impact business goals, customer experience, and expansion.
  • People and business management experience, supporting career development of a high performing sales team and business growth.
  • Experience with Cloud database products and services, including Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, AlloyDB as well as other database products including Oracle, SQL Server.
  • Experience leveraging knowledge of relevant products solutions.
  • Ability to analyze sales performance data or market changes to drive strategic direction.

About the job

In this role, you will build, lead, and develop a team of data management sales specialists and scaled Go-to-Market (GTM) specialists, to help create and deliver ambitious goals via a Go-to-Market strategy for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for Google’s database portfolio. You will lead a team with two connected areas of focus such as specialist database sellers who will have responsibility for business outcomes in specific countries/regions in EMEA and scaled GTM specialists to curate compelling campaigns which are applicable to a broad customer base and act as a funnel for the database sales specialists to pick up and drive to business/consumption. You’ll work with a wide stakeholder group advocating the importance of databases with executive leadership in the EMEA field providing feedback to product and global solutions teams to inform database product roadmap by recommending ways to adapt as the market and customer needs change and working with global peers to identify and scale best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies that accelerate pipeline creation, enhance pipeline velocity, and eliminate business friction through innovative, scalable programs tailored for Google Cloud's database offerings.
  • Demonstrate strategic leadership of the overall database business in EMEA, working with executive field stakeholders and product/engineering teams. This includes sharing engaged insights, commercial agreement incentives and offers.
  • Provide continuous feedback to product and global solutions teams to inform the roadmap and evolve Google Cloud's applications and database product suite.
  • Manage a team of sales specialists across EMEA, focused on databases who carry business goals for our database products, including regular forecasting rhythm and pipeline updates. 
  • Develop and execute high-impact scaled and focused business plays centered around databases, ensuring successful market engagement and customer adoption.
