Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
- Experience in system software development (e.g., embedded development, embedded Linux, device drivers, kernel, or firmware, etc.)
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in Open Source development.
- Experience with managing functional engineering teams and working with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners.
- Experience delivering consumer or enterprise products at scale and managing product solutions with multiple stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.As a Technical Program Manager on the Android team, you will work closely with a team of software engineering leads to develop and drive next generation Android technical solutions which influences longer-term engineering and business strategies. You will break down and plan requirements with multiple cross-functional teams and usher projects through the entire software development life-cycle. This includes consolidating and planning for features, developing and managing project schedules, identifying and keeping track of bugs/risks and clearly communicating the status to project stakeholders including executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Represent technical teams in both internal and external discussions with platform teams, and hardware partners.
- Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
- Perform technical feature and data analysis of issues to recommend way forward and representing the team in cross functional and leadership forums for resolution.
- Aggregate requirements and prioritize efforts to meet key objectives in accordance with the team strategy.
