The Core Data Technical Writing team (Core Data TW) is fully integrated into the Core Data product management team. Our mission is to educate, making Google's data solutions and infrastructure easier to use.

In this role, you will work directly with development teams in a cross-functional, distributed environment. You will need a technical background that enables you to work effectively with software development engineers, product managers, and program managers. In addition, you will need excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical publications. Finally, you'll need an interest in developing, using, and describing AI tools that accelerate developer workflows and technical writing itself.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Interest in learning and explaining new technologies, especially in emerging AI technologies and the associated big data landscape. Help others improve their writing skills through one-on-one consultations and regular office hours.
