  • Experience with high-volume production validation and manufacturing support.
  • Experience working with ODM/JDM models.
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or other relevant programming languages for test development.

As an Electrical Validation Engineer on the Google Beam team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the robustness and performance of our next-generation hardware systems. You'll be responsible for comprehensive board-level validation, functional testing, and driving Design of Experiments (DoEs) to pinpoint root causes and debug complex hardware issues across various system components. Your work will directly impact the reliability and quality of our groundbreaking communications products.

Project Starline from Google combines advances in hardware and software to enable friends, families and co-workers to feel together, even when they’re cities (or countries) apart. Imagine looking through a magic window, and through that window, you see another person, life-size and in three-dimensions. As part of the Project Starline team, you'll work with researchers and engineers in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Our teams collaborate closely with Google Workspace and Research teams. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. You will apply technology to solve that really important problem that we often want to be together and we can’t.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform board-level validation and comprehensive functional testing of diverse hardware components and systems.
  • Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DoEs) for efficient root cause analysis and debugging of electrical issues.
  • Collaborate closely with design, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless hardware integration and performance.
  • Develop and implement scripts and code (e.g., Python, C/C++) for automated testing, data analysis, and validation processes.
  • Utilize a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers, for debugging and characterization.
