Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, Semiconductor

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Manufacturing, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Product, Test or Customer Quality Engineer.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • 12 years of experience in Quality, Reliability or Semiconductor IC technology.
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems, Fab, Assembly or Test.
  • Experience in working with vendors and contract manufacturers and ability to travel.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, including practical experience with Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD), and CMOS Planar Technology.
  • Familiar with passive (RLC) components commodities.

About the job

The Global Hardware Quality and Reliability (GHQR) team is under the Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) team, responsible for components and solutions.

As a Semiconductor Supplier Quality Engineer, you will join the team responsible for setting and managing the quality and reliability standards for our semiconductor components across Google. You are a quality and reliability expert with a track record of improving the quality of semiconductor components during New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as maintaining it throughout its life cycle. You will have extensive involvement in the tools and techniques used to assess product quality and reliability. You will have solid partner management skills and love to sift through data and use it to drive design or manufacturing process improvements.

A strong understanding of IC flows, wafer processing, testing, qualification, and failure analysis is expected, as well as experience in semiconductor component assembly and test. An ideal SQE should also be a highly motivated, fast learner, team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for setting and managing the Quality and Reliability standards for a wide range of Semiconductor components (Power IC, Discrete, Passive and etc).
  • Drive the improvement of semiconductor component quality during New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustain it throughout the product life cycle, leveraging expertise in quality and reliability.
  • Monitor commodity failure trends and drive Root Cause and Corrective Action (8D/RCCA) with suppliers. Collaborate with Vendors and Contract Manufacturers, execute Return Material Authorizations, Failure analysis and corrective actions. Experience in the tools and techniques used to assess product quality and reliability (HTOL, bHAST, etc).
  • Define and establish IC DPPM goals/targets for Power commodities, while developing and leveraging expertise in the correlation between system-level testing and ATE platforms.
  • Lead audits of critical suppliers, covering Quality Management Systems, Fab, Assembly and Test.
